Mother Of Child Killed on Highway Arrested For Endangerment

Stephanie Fontenot-Barnaba has been arrested by La. State Police and has been charged with child endangerment in the death of her 7-year-old daughter last month.

The girl, Kendessa Castille, died while trying to cross US 190 east of Louisiana Highway 752 after leaving a home. Trooper Stephen Hammons says the two drivers were not injured in the crash.

Captain Megan Vizena with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office says Fontenot-Barnaba was booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail.
