Motorcycle Crash Claims Life Of 20-Year-Old Lafayette Man

Lafayette Police closed Kaliste Saloom Road for several hours Friday night following a motorcycle crash that claimed the life of 20-year-old Wesley Ravenhill Aranza of Lafayette.

The crash occurred around 9:30 p.m. when a driver of a BMW car drove out of a private driveway and into the path of Aranza's motorcycle.

The motorcyclist was partially ejected when he struck the driver's side door of the car. Aranza was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other motorist was transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

There have been no reports of citations issued.
