Motorcycle Fatality In New Iberia

Today at 2:38am Iberia Parish deputies responded to a call concerning an accident involving a motorcycle in New Iberia.

Arriving at the intersection of East St. Peter Street and Bank Avenue deputies found 21 year old Alex Ricks of Houma had been thrown from his motorcycle.  Ricks was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later by the Iberia Parish Coroner.

Ricks was apparently riding east on St. Peter Street when deputies believe he lost control of his motorcycle, was ejected and hit an object.

The Iberia Parish Sheriff's office continues to investigate and toxicology results are pending.
