Movie producers Tom Anton and his wife Sandi Russell visited 'Mornings With Ken and Bernie' today to discuss the premier of their new movie "The Pardon".  The movie, based on the true story of Toni Jo Henry, the last woman prisoner executed in Louisiana was filmed entirely in Louisiana.  When asked why Louisiana was chosen for filming Anton said,

Since the events happened in Louisiana it was natural to think of Louisiana for the work but when you add in the Louisiana Film Tax Credit it made for a perfect mix.

The movie recounts events surrounding the murder of Joseph P. Calloway and the ensuing events leading to the execution of Toni Jo Henry.

According to Anton,

The entire movie was filmed in Shreveport, Louisiana which proved to be a perfect location with great weather during April and May of last year.  In addition to the great weather and food we had a large contingent of movie professionals to choose from who now live in Louisiana.

Anton and Russell were en route to Lafayette to prepare for the premier and Anton said,

The Pardon will premier on March 22, 2013 at the Grand Theater in Lafayette and we hope all of your KPEL listeners will join us in the first showing.
