While the state is getting some much needed rain this week, entomologists say it could bring fireants out in full force. Dr. Dale Pollet with the LSU Ag Center says the drought conditions so far this year has kept the fireant population down. Dr. Pollet says all it takes is a few days of rain and fire any mounds will be popping up in large numbers. Dr. Pollet says once the ground gets wet, the buildup of fireants will begin.
