Much Of Acadiana Under Tornado Watch, Flood Warning Today
UPDATE: Flood Warning has been issued for the Vermilion River in Lafayette until 2:50 AM Tuesday. Minor flooding is expected around Heymann Park just off Highway 90.
The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for the following parishes:
- St. Landry
- St. Mary
The tornado watch is in effect until 8:00 pm. If you are in any of these parishes, please keep a close eye on the weather conditions as they may deteriorate quickly. A large frontal system is passing through the area, bringing plenty of moisture from the gulf and creating conditions that could spawn severe weather, from strong wind, hail, and lightning.
