Multiple Acadiana Enforcement Agencies To Be Honored
Several Acadiana law enforcement agencies will be among 38 local, parish and state law enforcement officers and Assistant District Attorneys honored tomorrow. Sheriff's Department's from Lafayette and Iberia Parishes along with police departments from Lafayette, Broussard and Carencro, the Jeanerette City Marshal's Office, Assistant District Attorneys from the 15th and 16th JDC and members of the Acadiana Criminalistics Laboratory Crime Lab will be recognized for their support of the Project Safe Neighborhood program. The program is a federal, state and local program designed to reduce gun violence through education, prevention and law enforcement activities. U.S. Attorney Stephanie Finley will also recognize the 15th Judicial District Court C.L.E.V.E.R. program for educating young people on the danger of gun violence. The ceremony will take place at 10:30 AM at the Lafayette Consolidated Government Building on Lafayette Street.
