Agents with the Acadia Parish Narcotic Strike Force along with the Sheriff's Office Patrol Division and the Louisiana Department of Probation and Parole were armed with 17 warrants this morning when they went looking for suspects.

Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon says they are still seeking nine people, but they did arrest four people on charges ranging from possession of drugs to distribution.

The following people were arrested, and their charges are listed:

  • Darren D. Roberts, age 43, 500 block of N Chevis Street, Rayne.  Distribution of Roxicodone and Distribution of Marijuana.     Bond set at $10,000.
  • Jerome K. Sonnier, age 25, 200 block of Westwood, Crowley.  Distribution of Crack Cocaine (2 counts).   Bond set at $20,000.
  • Johnava J. Bellard, age 29, Acadia Parish Jail, Crowley   Distribution of Marijuana.
  • Gerald Curley, age 54, Kathy Apartments, Crowley.   Distribution of Crack Cocaine.   Bond was set at $10,000.

Melancon is asking for the public's help in locating the remaining nine who are identified as:

  • Willie Batiste, age 22, of Rayne wanted for Distribution of Roxicodone and Distribution of Marijuana.
  • David Cook, age 33, of Rayne wanted for Distribution of Crack Cocaine.
  • Charlie Evans, Jr., age 32, of Rayne wanted for Distribution of Roxicodone.
  • Jimmie Lewis, age 52, of Rayne wanted for Distribution of Marijuana and Distribution of Crack Cocaine.
  • Reginald Clark, age 32, of Rayne wanted for Distribution of Crack Cocaine.
  • Donovan Robinson, age 29, of Crowley wanted for Distribution of PCP and Distribution of Roxicodone.

  • Larry Martin, age 56, whose last known address was Egan wanted for Distribution of Hydrocodone.

  • Bonds range from $5,000 to $20,000.

    Melancon is asking anyone knowing the whereabouts of these individuals is asked to contact the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office at 788-8700.
