A St. Martinville man is in police custody after being arrested on drugs and firearm charges.

St. Martin Parish Sheriff's spokesperson Maj. Ginny Higgins reported 32-year-old Clayges Abraham was arrested following the execution of a search warrant at his home.

Undercover narcotic agents purchased crack cocaine from Abraham as part of the investigation.

The search warrant of Abraham's home in the 100 block of Labbe Street yielded drugs including crack cocaine, marijuana and a loaded high-powered rifle.

Following his arrest, the suspect was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the following charges:

  • Distribution of Schedule II CDS (Crack Cocaine)
  • Possession of Schedule I CDS (Marijuana)
  • Transactions Involving Proceeds From Drug Offenses
  • Illegal Carrying Of Weapons In The Presence of a CDS
  • Possession of a Firearm By A Person Convicted Of Certain Felonies
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

No bond had been made at the time of the release.
