The annual 4th of July hot dog eating contest in Coney Island, New York, sponsored by Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs, is celebrating 100 years on Monday, and oh what a party it will be!

The contest is truly a national treasure, and brings thousands of hot dog loving fans to Surf and Stillwell Avenues on Coney Island for the party of the year. As hard as it is to believe, hot dog eating is an actual sport, with a Hall of Fame for contestants, qualifying events, and real superstars, like 69 time winner Joey Chesnutt, and 45 time winner Sonya Thomas. By the way, the record also goes to Joey Chesnutt, who ate 69 dogs in 10 minutes, in 2013.

If you can't make it to Brooklyn for this year's historic event, or watch the live broadcast on ESPN, then check out the official video below to get in on the vibe of the festive occasion. And happy 4th of July!
