In an effort to prevent flooding, a Krotz Springs man purchased hundreds of barriers, but was never paid.

St. Landry Parish President Bill Fontenot says the Louisiana National Guard will be paying the $136,000 bill for Paul Wiltz.

Wiltz bought 330 Hesco barriers to try to prevent flooding before the 2011 Morganza Spillway flooding, but for two years has been waiting to get his money back.

Fontentot says last week he met with Krotz Springs Mayor Carroll Snyder and Ken Davis from Governor Bobby Jindal's Office Of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness to work on getting Wiltz's funds back.

Fontentot says the Louisiana National Guard will be paying the bill.

He adds that at the time the purchase was made there were very few documents detailing the transaction.  Fontenot says Davis took responsibility for the oder, and he will work with the Guard to get the bill paid.
