Lafayette Police Chief Jim Craft says everyone in the Parish is invited to the free event.

The Lafayette Police Department, the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office and the Lafayette Fire Department are teaming up to have the "National Night Out" this Tuesday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

There will be entertainment, fun jumps for the kids, food, static displays and music, all free of charged.

Multiple communities across the country have their own version of "National Night Out' each year to show their support for crime prevention in their areas.

If you can't attend, you are encouraged to get out and meet your neighbors along with turning on your porch light to show your support for efforts against crime.

Neyland Park on Eraste Landry will be the setting for this year's National Night Out Against Crime in Lafayette.
