The price for Louisiana natural gas isn't quite what it used to be and it's taking it's toll. The nation's leader in natural gas production, Chesapeake Energy, is cutting back on production in Louisiana's Haynesville and Barnett shale plays.

Don Briggs, the president of the Louisiana Oil & Gas Association says that the amount of natural gas production plants has been halved in the past few years.

Chesapeake Energy currently has 47 plants in operation but plans on cutting that number down to 24 within a few months.
