One person took being a good neighbor to the next level. Yesterday afternoon just after 2 PM, deputies with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office were on their way to the 100 block of LaPlace Street responding to a burglary. On their way, they got a call that the victim's neighbor was following the car that had just left the house. Captain Kip Judice says the neighbor followed the accused burglars along an I-49 service road. But the accused criminals made the witness out and shot at him, causing his car to break down. But the neighbor was able to get their license plate number. He sent it in and deputies caught up with the car at a home off Carmel Drive. Norris Landor and Jarvis Ardoin face burglary charges. Landor is also accused of attempted first degree murder. The neighbor was not injured.
