New Bill to Require Women To Listen To Baby’s Heartbeat Before Abortion

The Senate Committee for Health and Welfare will be discussing a new bill by Senator Sharon Broome today.

The bill is SB 708 and it would change the current requirements for abortion procedures in Louisiana. The current standing on abortion laws in the state requires women to see an ultrasound of the baby before aborting.

This bill would change the requirement to also include audio during the ultrasound procedure. The bill is currently set to be discussed last in the session.
