New Buses Run On Natural Gas In Lafayette

Today marks a new day for the Lafayette Transit Service. Five new buses running routes in Lafayette will be run by natural gas. The new buses were ordered a year ago and was paid by Federal Transit Administration Formula Grant and Discretionary Capital Grants with local matching funds being supplied by Lafayette Consolidated Government. Federal Recovery Act funds from the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA) were also used.
