SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) — The Caddo Parish School Board has approved a master plan that will close 13 schools. The plan approved Thursday after months of discussion also calls for construction of four campuses and the consolidation of other schools. Numerous changes were made in the three-year plan, but the plan still drew opposition from parents of students who will face major changes. The Times of Shreveport reports that, after the final 9-2 vote, some members of the crowd booed the board members and yelled obscenities at them, while others sat stunned.
