The University of Louisiana system board of supervisors has approved a new five-year contract for Ragin' Cajuns head football coach Mark Hudspeth.

Hudspeth's base salary remains $175,000 a year, but the annual value of the contract goes up from $350,000 to $750,000 a year. Hudspeth can also earn as much as $105,000 a year in incentive bonuses, based on the team's performance, both on the field and in the classroom, and for attendance at UL games.

In his first year as head coach of the Cajuns, Coach Hud led the Cajuns to a 9-4 season and a victory in the New Orleans Bowl.
