HAMMOND, La. (AP) — The City Council has approved the appointment of businessman Pete Panepinto as director of administration.

The Advocate reports Panepinto will be paid $40,000 a year for the part-time job of overseeing the city's accounting, purchasing and planning departments.

He was nominated by Mayor Mayson Foster.
