New Flood Map Coming For Lafayette Parish

There are many changes expected in the new flood map.  A new flood map for Lafayette Parish is expected to changes things for many areas.  The final FEMA map is expected in a few weeks, and some areas will be moved out of flood zones, while other areas will not fair so well.  The map is used by insurance flood rates and elevation levels.  The map is also used to regulate different community developments to reduce possible flooding.
