Starting today, Dr. David Cheramie takes over as Chief Executive Officer for the Lafayette Bayou Vermilion District.  He takes over after the retirement of Cynthia Trahan.  Cheramie takes the post after years serving as Executive Director of CODOFIL.   He says one of his first goals is to raise awareness of the importance of the district's work along the bayou. The District exists to promote the bayou as a recreational and cultural asset, and it is governed by a nine member Board of Commissioners appointed by the executives of the parish's municipalities and the City-Parish Council.
