Don’t freak out if you go to the City Hall in New Iberia and you see that the water in the fountain is green.

According to our media partners at KATC TV-3, the city dyed the water green in honor of St. Patrick’s Day.

The New Iberia Marching Men dyed the fountain green to kickoff “Turn the Bayou Country Green” for 2017.

So, there you have it. And no, the water is NOT bad in New Iberia. It’s green for a reason, and for a good one—St. Patrick’s Day is almost here!
