A man wanted for the shooting death of Uriah Joseph on March 10 in New Iberia was arrested Friday in Houston Texas with the help of the United States Marshals Violent Offender Task Force along with Houston Police.

Back on March 10, the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office received a call about a shooting in progress at the corner of Sam and Ann Streets.

When deputies got to the scene they found 24-year-old Uriah Joseph suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Deputies administered CPR until paramedics got to the scene. They continued CPR while on the way to the hospital, but Joseph was pronounced dead later at the hospital.

Michael Augustine was picked up on the 2nd degree murder charge in Houston yesterday.

Augustine will be held in Harris County Texas while he waits for extradition to Iberia Parish.
