A New Iberia shooting suspect is on the loose and the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in locating him.

According sheriff's spokesperson Capt. Richard Fleming, deputies reported the shooting occurred in the 600 block of Cypress Lane at approximately 11:15 p.m. Friday night.

Deputies responding to the scene of the shooting found a 41-year-old male victim who had sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

The victim told detectives he was approached by the suspect while he was standing in his driveway. After an argument arose, the victim began walking away when the suspect shot him.

The victim was treated at a local hospital for his wounds.

Investigators urge anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office's Bureau of Investigation at 337-369-3711.
