New Iberia Teen Charged With Breaking Into Vehicles

Police in Iberia Parish have arrested an 18-year-old man for allegedly breaking into cars at New Iberia Senior High School.

According to Iberia Parish Sheriff Louis Ackal, Jacorey Ledet was arrested after a search of his Candleglow Drive home turned up several credit cards and a stolen handgun.

Ledet was booked into the Iberia Parish Jail on charges of illegal possession of a firearm, unauthorized use of an access card, simple burglary, criminal damage to property, and criminal trespass.

Ackal said investigators are not ruling out any other potential suspects in the case.
