BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Investigators with the Louisiana  Attorney General's Office have arrested a 38-year-old New Iberia woman and booked her with two counts of Medicaid fraud.

Officials say Theresa Clay Guy surrendered to investigators Thursday and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

The AG's office said in a news release that Guy, a direct service worker, is accused of submitting false timesheets to her employers claiming that she simultaneously provided personal care services to two Medicaid recipients at their homes.

Direct service workers are hired by Medicaid providers to care for physically disabled or elderly Medicaid recipients. They provide caregiver services such as cooking, grooming, and bathing.

It was unclear whether Guy has an attorney.
