The fifth time was the charm. After a vote by the Louisiana High School Athletic Association, schools will be able to play up one class above their enrollment class. The proposal was made by Mike Giambelluca, principal of Jesuit High School in the New Orleans area. He says the new rule won't solve every issue but it's reasonable and will benefit many schools.  Giambelluca said, "When they found themselves in a situation where their enrollment maybe has gone down a little bit, and they want to compete against schools that they've been traditionally competing against. Or geographically, it makes more sense for them to play up one and be with schools in their area."  The proposal passed earlier today after failing four previous times. The new rule takes effect in the 2013-2014 school year.
