New Louisiana Job Search Website Launches
LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) — The LouisianaWorkforce Commission has launched a new job search website, making it easier for the unemployed to seek and apply for jobs in state.
Louisiana Star Jobs is an interactive search tool that ranks occupations in Louisianaaccording to salary; the number of openings; and the prospects for various careers. The site factors in each individual's qualifications, as well as educational background and desired income.
The American Press reports LouisianaStar Jobs finds and ranks jobs based on four criteria: projected demand, projected percentage job growth, the number of advertised job openings in the past year and wages.
Users can also narrow their searches to jobs in a particular region of the state.
