New Orleans 2nd Most Popular 4th Of July Destination

New  Orleans  has been rated the No. 2 most popular destination  for Independence Day  weekend  according  to Priceline.com.

Jennifer Day with  the  New  Orleans  Convention  and Visitors  Bureau  says  the rankings are based on hotel reservations. Day says the Essence Music Festival is a popular Fourth of July weekend  draw  for  many out of state visitors, and the French Quarter always heats up when  the sun
goes down.  New  Orleans big fireworks display--launched from two barges on  the river--is also a huge draw for the Fourth.
