NEW ORLEANS (AP) — One of New Orleans' top public schools is getting a donation of more than $1 million from a member of its 1965 graduating class.

Dr. Joseph Horton's donation to Benjamin Franklin High School was detailed in a news release Wednesday from school supporters

The gift was announced at the 2012 commencement ceremony on May 22 by Principal Timothy Rusnak.

Horton is a neuro-interventional surgeon with more than 35 years of experience in the medical profession as a physician and scientist.
