New Orleans Bowl Memories: 2014
The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajun football team will take on the Southern Miss Golden Eagles in the 2016 R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, scheduled for Saturday night at 8 pm at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, La.
The appearance will mark the 5th in 6 years in the New Orleans Bowl for coach Mark Hudspeth’s squad.
All week, in anticipation of the match-up on Saturday night, we’ll be re-living previous New Orleans Bowl’s that Louisiana played in, from 2011-2014.
On Monday, we went back in time and re-lived Louisiana’s incredible victory in the 2011 New Orleans Bowl.
On Tuesday, we re-lived UL’s 2012 New Orleans Bowl victory by the Cajuns over the East Carolina Pirates.
On Wednesday, we took a look back at Louisiana's 24-21 win over the Tulane Green Wave in the 2013 New Orleans Bowl.
Today, in our final look back at UL's four-consecutive bowl wins, we go back to 2014, and remember their 16-3 victory over the Nevada Wolfpack.
The three points allowed set a school bowl record, as well as the New Orleans Bowl-record, while helping Louisiana become the first school in college football bowl history to win the same bowl game in four straight seasons.
Louisiana quarterback Terrance Broadway finished 26-of-31 passing for 227 yards and was named Most Valuable Player, becoming the first two-time MVP in New Orleans Bowl history.
