I'll never forget it. In 2016 my husband and I were in New Orleans with friends and we went to Lafayette Square to hand out and wound up at the inaugural Fried Chicken Festival. We had no idea it was going on, but we were presently surprised. We ate from several ventures, joined a second line, and caught beads as a small Mardi Gras parade breezed through the park to celebrate the launch of the festival.

Since then the National Fried Chicken Festival (FCF) presented by Raising Cane’s expanded to a two-day event and is still going strong. The festival took a brief hiatus due to the pandemic, and in 2022 moved to a new location along the Lakefront. This year marks the 6th annual of the festival and promises to be the biggest yet.

Make plans to head out to NOLA and attend the award-winning Fried Chicken Festival from September 30 - October 1. Featuring more than 50 restaurants showcasing their unique spins the South's most iconic dish. There will be three stages this year with two music stages featuring live entertainment from sun up to sun down.

The third stage is the HEINZ® “Food is Culture” Stage with celeb chefs, cooking demonstrations, TED-style talks, panel discussions, and more. Get your tickets now!
