One lawmaker is looking to strip the governor's power to grant pardons. New Orleans Rep. Austin Badon says public outrage over outgoing Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour's pardening of four convicted killers led him to pre-file the bill for the upcoming legislative session. Badon's legislation would require amending the Constitution; so it will need two-thirds majority approval in both chambers before going to voters on a Fall ballot. He says his bill is in no way a reflection on Governor Bobby Jindal.
