Charges have been dropped against New Orleans Saints player Will Smith after he was arrested by Lafayette Police for getting into an argument with his wife, Racquel, in November of 2010. Lafayette Police say it happened just after 2 a.m. when the couple was leaving a nightclub downtown.

Smith was indicted in March of 2011 on misdemeanor charges of domestic abuse battery and public intoxication.

The Lafayette Parish District Attorney's Office dismissed the misdemeanor domestic abuse battery charge against Smith after he completed dozens of hours of community service and participated in counseling. Assistant District Attorney Janet Perrodin says Smith's wife requested the charges be dismissed against her husband.
