With their only selection on the second day of the 2013 NFL Draft, the New Orleans Saints selected offensive tackle Terron Armstead, out of Arkansas-Pine Bluff, with their third round pick, the 75th overall, on Friday evening.

The 6-foot-5, 306-pound Armstead, a three-time All-SWAC performer, started 12 games at left tackle during his senior year.

Armstead also was an eight-time SWAC track & field champion, specializing in the shot put.

The Saints were looking for help at offensive tackle, after losing last year's starting left tackle, Jermon Bushrod, who signed as a free agent with the Chicago Bears.

New Orleans will wrap-up their 2013 draft with three picks on Saturday, in rounds 4-6.
