New Phone Number To Report Child Abuse

The Department of Children and Family Services has a new toll-free number for the public to report child abuse or neglect.

The new number, 1-855-4LA-KIDS, replaces all previous local DCFS numbers. DCFS Secretary Ruth Johnson says callers can now call the new number instead of any of 25 local or regional ones. Johnson says the number streamlines the reporting process, ensuring every report is dealt with promptly and uniformly.
