THIBODAUX, La. (AP) — The Thibodaux City Council has tightened rules on qualifications to serve on city boards.

The Daily Comet reports (http://bit.ly/L3BHZP ) the council voted to require all members of the city's Planning and Zoning Commission and the Board of Adjustments to live inside the city.

The action came after the council in April rejected a nominee for the Planning and Zoning Commission because the nominee didn't live within city limits.

Regulations now require members of the planning commission to be landowners and qualified voters in Thibodaux. Members of the Board of Adjustments must be residents of Thibodaux and qualified voters.
