A new report has listed the top 100 public high schools in Louisiana, and three schools from the Acadiana area are in the top five.

According to ValuePenguin, Erath High School, North Vermilion High School, and Early College Academy in Lafayette are numbers two, three, and four respectively.

Researchers took a number of factors into consideration, including algebra and English test scores, student/teacher ratios, school size, and the diversity of the student body.

The number one public high school in the state is Belle Chasse High School, according to the website.

Other Acadiana area schools making the top 100: Delcambre High School (32), Kaplan High School (38), Lafayette High School (60), Mamou High School (62), Jennings High School (66), Comeaux High School (83), Abbeville High School (90), and Ville Platte High School (98).
