High calorie content doesn't scare eaters, that's what a study at Tulane University has shown. The studies lead author, Janet Schwartz says that labeling calorie content on menus seemed like a good idea but they haven't really seem a major change in the eating habits of people that eat out.

Schwartz says a better approach is simply asking diners if they would like a smaller portion.
