Newt Gingrich's tour through Louisiana ahead of the Republican Presidential Primary this Saturday will stop in Lafayette Wednesday night.

After spending the day in Pineville and Lake Charles, Gingrich is scheduled to appear at the Hilton on Pinhook Road in Lafayette from 7 PM - 8 PM CT. The event is free and open to the public. His wife Callista is scheduled to visit the Miles Perret Cancer Center on Kaliste Saloom Road in Lafayette from 4 PM to 5 PM CT before joining her husband at the event in the Hilton. Newt Gingrich will also visit First Baptist Church in Lafayette on Lee Avenue from 5:45 PM - 6:15 PM.

Fellow GOP candidate Rick Santorum visited the Hilton last week as well. As of now, fellow Republican candidates Mitt Romney and Ron Paul have not scheduled any visits for Lafayette. Gingrich and his wife will then move on to Baton Rouge and the New Orleans area Thursday and Friday before leaving for Pennsylvania on Saturday.
