Nine-Year-Old Dead After Shooting

A nine-year-old is dead today after a shooting on Thanksgiving eve.

Jefferson Parish authorities have charged two teenagers following the Thanksgiving eve shooting death of nine-year-old George Elmore at a home in Marrero. He was shot in the head by a bullet fired from a handgun that the child's 15-year-old uncle bought "on the street." The two were in a rear bedroom with a 16-year-old boy when the gun discharged. The 15-year-old is charged with negligent homicide and the 16-year-old with obstruction of justice.
