State corrections officials are considering a telephone access program to curtail unauthorized cellphone use in state prisons.

Corrections spokesperson Pam Laborde says authorities have confiscated 32 cellphones this year from inmates at Angola, and two more were found before they could be carried into the prison. Angola warden Burl Cain says some are brought in by people who buy cheap phones at retail and then resell them to inmates for huge profits.
