There was some discussion last week about possibly having another meeting this week about the investigation into Superintendent Dr. Pat Cooper, but the meeting will not happen.

Board President Shelton Cobb says there will be no meeting this week about the pending investigation.

The Lafayette Parish School Board voted 5 to 4 at the July 17 meeting to hire a Gretna law firm to investigate some complaints about Cooper, but the board didn't specify what the complaints might be and how much it would cost for the investigation.

The board does not have another regularly scheduled meeting until next week on August 7, so there was some idea that perhaps a meeting would be called to talk about the scope of the investigation, but it will not happen.

Both the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce and Lafayette Parish Public Education Stakeholders Council have issued statements calling for an end to the investigation.
