Lafayette Police are searching for two people who Monday night robbed the Target store on Louisiana Ave.

Employees at the store told police that at about 9:50 p.m., two black men with pillow cases over their heads walked into the store and approached the registers. Cpl. Paul Mouton with Lafayette Police said the employees "ran to safety and the suspects grabbed an undisclosed amount of money and fled out of the store."

The two men were seen getting into an older model pickup truck and leaving the area.

About ten minutes later, police responded to a vehicle fire on East Pont De Mouton Road. Mouton said the vehicle was a 1999 Chevrolet pickup truck and is believed to be the same vehicle in which the suspects drove away.

If you have any information that could help investigators, you're urged to call Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
