The statistics are in and the birth rate plummets.  The latest information from the National Center for Health Statistics shows a decrease in four percent.

The birth rate in the United State is really going down dramatically.  With the new information in the report from the National Center for Health Statistics, we now know that the the birthrate plunged four-percent from 2007 to 2009. There were 66-point-seven births for every one-thousand women between the ages of 15 and 44 in 2009. It's the most significant drop for any two-year time frame since the mid-1970s.

The report notes birth rates dropped for all women except those 40 years of age and older. In addition, preliminary figures show U.S. birth rates remained in decline during the first half of 2010.
