GRETNA, La. (AP) — A woman has entered a not guilty plea in connection with the death and dismemberment of a French Quarter strip club dancer whose body parts washed ashore in 2012 on the Mississippi coast.

Margaret Sanchez entered the plea Monday in Jefferson Parish to charges of second-degree murder, obstruction of justice and conspiracy to obstruct justice in the death of 22-year-old Jaren Lockhart.

Nola.com/The Times-Picayune reports that a public defender entered the plea for the 30-year-old Sanchez.

Sanchez is being held in the Jefferson Parish jail in Gretna with bond set at $1.5 million.

Forty-one-year-old Terry Speaks faces the same charges as Sanchez in Jefferson Parish. He's currently in a federal prison, where he is serving time for an unrelated crime. He is to complete that prison term in October.
