Officials at United Blood Services are asking anyone with O-negative blood to donate blood as soon as possible.

O-negative reserves are down to a less than one day supply.

This type of blood is a blood that anyone can accept.

Mitzi Breaux, Marketing & Communications Manager, United Blood Services, says, "O- negative blood can be given to anyone, regardless of their blood type, in an extreme emergency situation when there is no time to crossmatch the donor's blood with the patient's."

Go to www.bloodhero.com or call United Blood Services at 337-235-LIFE (5433) for more information.
