COLLEVILLE-SUR-MER, France (AP) — “These men waged war so that we might know peace.”

That’s what President Barack Obama said today of the men who stormed the beaches at Normandy 70 years ago today.

Veterans of the D-Day invasion sat in the audience and were given a long standing ovation as Obama spoke at the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial in France.
