WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama meets today with governors of both parties at the White House.

He told state leaders during a Sunday White House dinner that their cooperation "is vital," especially when dealing with a Congress that's having a "difficult time acting."

Republicans attending the meeting plan to share their ideas for improving the nation's economy.

They want fewer federal regulations and freedom from key provisions of Obama's health care overhaul.
