WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama and his family are delivering a couple of turkeys today to a Washington charity. And unlike the two birds he pardoned today, these two are destined for a Thanksgiving meal.

Turkeys named Popcorn and Caramel were the lucky birds whose lives were spared -- and they'll go on display at George Washington's Mount Vernon estate for the next several weeks.

Obama said presidents have many awesome and solemn responsibilities. "This is not one of them," he says.
